Fall protection equipment has once again been found to be the most frequent workplace safety violation in the United States by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

This marks the ninth year in a row that fall protection was found to be the most commonly violated safety rule by OSHA. The Top 10 list of common violations was recently released at the National Safety Council’s annual congress and expo held in San Diego, Calif.

The United States Department of Labor noted that the Top 10 list is published as a way to alert employers about commonly cited standards, allowing them to take the necessary steps to find and fix recognized hazards addressed in these and other standards before OSHA is required to intervene.

Workers must receive additional site specific training where required by OSHA standards.

With all modules available online, students have 24/7 access to the self-paced OSHA courses whenever, wherever there is an internet connection.

Established in 1971, OSHA’s mission is to “assure safe and healthy working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance.”
